  PROGRAMS

  

URS 5-year plan includes acquiring funds in order to secure a residential site to accommodate our youth. At this time URS is servicing foster youth at their current placement and other venues. 

 

Programs in development:

 

Bright Futures Program (BFP)

Houses foster adolescents from ages 15-17. Students will be prepared to make the transition to self-sufficiency with a focus being on education.  All children finishing this program will have received their High School Diploma. These students will then be promoted to the New Beginnings Program.

  

New Beginnings Program (NBP)

A more advance program that houses young adults aging out of foster care from ages 18-24, who have received their High School Diploma and have obtained employment and/or entered into a higher education program (college, trade school, etc.).  Students will receive hands on training as they are prepared to live as independent adults.

    URS will assist graduates with finding affordable housing through partnerships with several housing resources.

Beyond High School

Finding the right trade, v0cation, or profession that fuels your passion.  Learn how to become an entrepreneur.

 

Job Readiness

Dress for Success, filling out an application, creating a resume/cover letter, interviewing techniques, and learning the benefits of becoming an intern by shadowing other experts in a desired field.

 

Financial Literacy

Acquiring a bank account, Save Save Save,  Budgeting, and Money Management.

 

Leadership Training/Character Building

Youth will begin to learn how to assess their values; enhance their listening and communication skills; problems solving; develop strategies to maintain a positive attitude; and implement and achieve realistic goals that would lead to a successful future.
