2012 URS Scholarship

(Applications being accepted September 7, 2011 – February 1, 2012)

Eligibility

 In order to be considered for the URS Crossroads Scholarship award, you must currently be a foster child who resides in either the New York or New Jersey area and accepted to an accredited College, University, or Technical school, or have been emancipated from care within two years of discharge and enrolled in a an accredited College, University, or Technical School. 

Award

URS Crossroads Scholarship award is given to foster youth who have achieved academic excellence as well as personal success toward independence.  This award is received through an application process which (2) two candidates will be chosen by our scholarship committee.  Completed applications must be submitted no later than February 1, 2012.  Incomplete application and/or applications not received by the deadline will not be considered in the award determinations.  Once a candidate has been identified by the committee, he/she will be notified by April 2, 2012 via the contact information provided.  Awardees will receive a monetary award in the sum of $500 that will be paid directly to the institution that he/she will be attending.
